Here are some tips: - Write a really catchy (short) plot outline that grabs their attention. - Tick the appropriate genre for your story. - Tell them a little bit about yourself (your writing history; the genre you are inspired by). - Don’t give them a draft – make sure the manuscript is edited to the best of your ability. - Outline your writing strengths and weaknesses, so they know what to focus on. - Be prepared to hear positive as well as constructive criticism. - Thank them – you might like to beta-read their story too.
