Ch 1 | Project
A small breeze of wind passed, touching the handsome face of a man lying on his stomach with his eyes closed. The rhythmic buzz of a tattoo machine echoed through the room inking intricate patterns on his skin. His long hair fell over his eyes which are usually hidden behind glasses creating a veil of mystery. "Done, sir" said the tattoo artist.
He opened his eyes, got up and stared at his freshly inked tattoo in the mirror. It was a masterpiece that would always stay hidden under his hoodie, a secret known only to him. Without any special expression, he observed the tattoo's details. Suddenly, a message notification made his eyes divert. He glanced at his phone.

"Argh! What a day!" she said while rushing upstairs and glancing at her wristwatch once again. Anyone could tell she was exhausted and needed to rest just by looking at her. She paused for a second, took a deep breath and continued up the stairs, her footsteps echoing in the empty hallway.
As she rounded the corner, she almost collided with someone coming down. Looking up, her eyes met with those of her favorite person. Her heart skipped a beat, her pupils dilated, and a faint smile tugged at the corners of her lips. Despite the urge to stop, she decided to ignore him, aware that she was running late.
He reached out and gently grabbed her arm, halting her in her tracks. "Where are you going? I thought your classes were over" he said with curiosity and concern. She nodded quickly. "They were, but I just got a text about an extra class. They say it's important, so I can't skip it" she said, her breath coming in short gasps.
Sophia, an average in studies, is a student studying Political Science in Switzerland, had a boyfriend named Sihyun. His best friend, Jackson, was a mutual friend of theirs. Sihyun nodded and let go of her arm. "See you soon, darling. Text me when you're free" he said. Sophia nodded and hurried off, while Jackson chuckled at the sight of his friends being cute together.
"If you're done staring at her, shall we leave?" Jackson teased Sihyun. Sihyun punched him playfully, and they both continued downstairs, engrossed in their conversation. They were so caught up in their talk that they didn't notice the guy rushing upstairs. He wore a white hoodie, with a bag slung over one shoulder, holding barely a book inside. His long black hair added to his striking appearance. One glance was enough to see he had a perfectly toned body.
Jeon Jungkook, the only son of the president of XXX country, was an imposing figure. As the sole heir, he was next in line to be President. The country, ruled by the Jeon family, operated without democracy. The President makes and removes laws at will, ruling like kings and living a life of absolute luxury.
The Jeon familyโs grip on power was absolute, and their rule was marked by strict control. Leaving the country without the president's permission was impossibleโattempting to do so illegally, if caught, would result in a death sentence. Jungkook, with his charisma and powerful lineage, was destined to continue his family's legacy, living a life of privilege and responsibility.

I reached the class and breathed a sigh of relief, knowing I wasn't late. As I walked in, I quickly scanned the room for an empty seat. Spotting one in the corner, I settled down and took a few deep breaths, calming myself with a sip of cold water. Just then, I noticed a boy entering the class, looking slightly out of breath. I recognized him immediatelyโJeon Jungkook. One of the handsome nerds of the university. He is known for his rude and nerdy behavior. But he's our senior! Why would he attend our class?
He glanced around, his eyes briefly locking with mine. In that momentary gaze, I felt a spark of curiosity and intrigue passed between us before he moved on to find a seat. Most of the seniors were already seated, and Jungkook took the only empty seat behind me. The professor arrived, and we greeted him as the class began.
The lecture was boring, and I couldn't help but wonder why we were summoned so urgently if there was nothing particularly special to discuss. As the class continued, the professor suddenly announced an important project. While that wasn't unexpected, what caught me off guard was the requirement to work in pairs with seniors. I had no idea whom to ask. I kept mostly to myself, finding it difficult to trust others in a university where many students seemed two-faced.
After half an hour, the professor began asking the students who their partners would be in order to keep a record of the data, and I found myself still unsure if any seniors even knew me. "Miss Sophia! Who will be your partner for the project?" Professor asked me. "I haven't found anyone yet, sir" I replied with a little guilt. "Mr. Jungkook, what about your partner?" he asks. "Not found yet" he replied in his deep voice. I noticed some of my classmates admiring his voice, Cringe. I focused back on the professor.
"How about you and Miss Sophia pair up? You two are the only ones without partners" the professor suggested. I heard my name and looked up, meeting Jungkook's dark brown eyes. For a moment, I was lost in his gaze before I quickly glanced back at the professor. "Sure, sir" Jungkook agreed. I breathed a sigh of relief knowing I wouldn't have to work on the project alone. Plus, Jungkook was known as the top student in his class, which was a good sign for our project.
As the class ended, we all started walking out. I noticed Jungkook a few steps ahead of me and hurried to catch up. "Hello! My name is Sophia" I said with a smile. He looked at me with a blank expression, staring for a moment before refocusing on the path ahead. "Jungkook" he replied shortly. "When should we start the project?" I asked. "You don't need to worry about it. I'll take care of the project because I don't tolerate mistakes" he said. His response felt rude, and I paused in front of him, unsure how to proceed.
"What is that supposed to mean?" I asked. "You must be an average student, And I don't need your help. That's what I mean" he said. I was blank. Did he just insulted me? I raised my brow. He just kept staring at me. I did the same until my phone rang. He left without listening my any word. "Wow! Who does he think he is? Arrogant fool." I took some deep breaths to calm myself and answered the call.

Sophia.. Beautiful.. I have always admired her from afar. What stopped me from making a move is that she's already in a relationship. Their couple is quite famous in university. I sighed soundly. I don't want something to go wrong in the project just because of their foolish romance. It's better to do it myself. I got a call from my father. I ignored it. Fvcking old geezer. I walked to the cafeteria to get some lunch. Soon I got a call from my Father's manager. I sighed. "Yes?" "Good morning Prince."
"It's not morning here. Just tell me what it is" I said. "The President's health is deteriorating. He may not have much time left." he said.. That was actually good news for me. "So?" I asked.. "It would be better if you visit him once" He said. "I'll think about it" I said and ended the call.. As if I'll take a few hours of flight just to go and see him die! No way. I have a lot of work here. I placed my sandwich on the table, opened my laptop, put my glasses on and started to search for a topic for a project.
Someone shoved me hard on the shoulder, causing me to stumble. "That's our table, nerd! Get lost" the person said. I clenched my jaw, trying to control my temper. My eyes met hisโSihyun, Sophia's unattractive boyfriend. My eyes wandered to find her, and I eventually saw her ordering some food with her other friends. My eyes traveled back to Sihyun. "Oh, I didn't realize this table was reserved for losers. Thanks for the heads-up." I said and got up.
"Youโ" Sihyun started to say something but paused, clearly taken aback by my response. "Yeah, well, enjoy your special spot" I added casually. I locked my laptop screen and was about to leave when I say Sophia walking towards pur direction. Her eyes met mine. "Oh! Hi" she said. I didn't reply anything. "About the project earlier, how about we start it from tomorrow" he said while her boyfriend wrapped his arm around her waist. I hate this.
"What! This nerd is in a project with you?" his boyfriend asks. "Stop calling him nerd" Sopha whispers to him but I heard her. "As I said, I'll do it myself, don't worry I'll add your name" I said and walked past them not wanting to see their romantic moments. I'll kill him one day. I unlocked my car and got inside it while I threw my bag on the passenger seat. My grip on the steering wheel tightened remembering how he held her waist.
I started driving the car towards my apartment while my brain was still stuck remembering the moments when I fell in love with her. It was their orientation program, when professors asked me to present it to our juniors. My eyes caught her, because she was wearing all purple, from her shoes to her hairband, everything. I found it weird at that time, but now I'm addicted. It's been three whole years since then. I never stalked her like creeps. But I have always watched her. And only her. Even I myself don't know what's so special about her.
I thought my obsession will vanish soon. But it just keeps on increasing. And when I came to know she's already taken, my first thought was to murder her boyfriend and keep her all for me and have been waiting patiently till today to not let my intrusive thoughts win. But now when my father's health is deteriorating, I may have to leave this life behind soon. And I just can't imagine my day without seeing her. I just can't.
